Magnesium hydroxide, MAGSTARⓇ, is produced by precipitating magnesium, which is contained in seawater at 0.13%. Further heating it produces magnesium oxide, TATEHOMAGⓇ.
TATEHOMAGⓇ has small particles and excellent reactivity, making it suitable for use as a surface treatment agent and ceramic raw material. In particular, our magnesium oxide, which is adjusted for electromagnetic steel sheets, is called “magic powder” and is an indispensable material for manufacturing high-grade electromagnetic steel sheets incorporated into transformers.
Additionally, in 1997, we successfully developed the non-halogen flame retardant ECOMAGⓇ, providing the highest quality flame retardant for semiconductor encapsulation materials and other applications. To ensure stable supply even during disasters, we established the Hibikinada Plant in Kitakyushu,
Fukuoka Prefecture, in 2016, creating a two-base production system with the Ako Plant and the Hibikinada Plan

Ceramics TATECERAⓇ are manufactured by molding and firing fused magnesium oxide produced in-house.
It is rare for a manufacturer to consistently produce magnesium oxide ceramics from raw materials, and by leveraging the benefits of integrated production, we achieve stable quality and supply.
Magnesium oxide ceramics, which excel in electrical insulation, thermal conductivity, and heat resistance, are widely used as insulator for nuclear, industrial, and general heaters, as well as jigs for firing electronic components and crucibles for metal melting.
In 2015, we established Tateho Ozark Technical Ceramics Inc. in Missouri, USA, and have been selling Tateho Group ceramics worldwide.
