Features

The magnesium oxide insulator is used for the cartridge heater, the sheathed heater, and the glow plug, because the magnesium oxide is superior in the electric insulation characteristics (1014Ω) and the heat conductance (60W・m-1・K-1).
The magnesium oxide insulator is used as an insulated core that wraps an exothermic wire and as a guide insulator that guide a metal wire.
Tateho can produce the TATECERA®EMG magnesium oxide insulator of various purities and various densities (=strength).
In addition, Tateho can produce the high purity product and various shape and the size (outside diameter, hole diameter, pitch, and length).
Therefore, if our insulator is used, it becomes easy to produce the heater.

As a global trend toward decarbonization intensifies, Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) are becoming increasingly popular in each country.
Unlike conventional vehicles with internal combustion engines, BEVs cannot be heated by using exhaust heat from the engine. Therefore, a new heat source is required to replace it.
Due to this, as one of the heat sources for BEVs, heating systems using cartridge heaters, which have an excellent balance between heating performance and power consumption, are beginning to spread.
The cartridge heater used in this heating system utilizes TATECERA®EMG of magnesium oxide ceramics, which boasts many years of proven and reliable usage.
